Blake Lively brings back mermaidcore in blue sequin fish scales dress
Blake Lively stepped out in New York City last night [Thursday 2 May] to celebrate Pharrell Williams's launch of the new Tiffany Titan by Pharrell Williams collection at Tiffany & Co, and wowwwww at her look.
Blake wore a shimmering mermaid-esque dress with blue faux scales which is best described as a vibe straight out of Aquamarine, the iconic 2006 fish out of water (literally) comedy starring a young Emma Roberts, JoJo and Sara Paxton – iykyk.
Blake styled her sequinned midi dress with sparkly barely-there sandals and a selection of diamond jewellery that was no doubt from the evening's host, Tiffany. She styled her long blonde hair into side swept waves to really emphasise the mermaidcore aesthetic.
Her look is a stark contrast to the less-than-glamorous costumes she's been wearing as of late to film It Ends With Us, the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's best-selling book. Speaking about her character in the movie, the actress told People, "Lily resonated with an enormous amount of people, as the success of the book made clear." She added, "Stepping into a character who’s had such a meaningful impact is an honour to take on. I loved Lily. And I hope that love is felt by those who care about her like I do, and also those who are getting to know her for the first time in this film."
Known for famously styling herself, and doing so with incredible success, we welcome any Blake red carpet sighting. And with the Met Gala just days away, here's hoping she makes an appearance at the 2024 event to reclaim her crown as queen of the Met. *Fingers crossed*.
