Blazers Were a Street Style Favorite at Copenhagen Fashion Week
Plus: The buddy system, but make it fashion.
While most of us are kicking off the month of August with a vacation, soaking up the last bits of summer and mentally preparing for fashion month, some industry folks and plenty of influencers attended Copenhagen Fashion Week, which featured memorable runway shows from our favorite Danish brands like Ganni and Cecilie Bahnsen.
Though Copenhagen's fashion week is relatively short compared to other cities — three or four days in total —that doesn't mean the event skimps out on street style. In fact, it's packed with sartorial cues that will likely inspire the fashion crowd's outfits in New York, London, Milan and Paris in the weeks ahead. One particular trend we saw was the boxy, oversized blazer. Sure, this garment has been a favorite for a while, but it was in full force in Copenhagen — so much so that showgoers paired up to show off their matching looks, like the buddy system, but make it fashion.
