Blogger's Elf on the Shelf makeup look is more naughty than nice
Now that it’s December, it’s officially time for our favorite beauty bloggers to inundate our social media feeds with all things glittery, snowy, and festive. While most holiday makeup involves a well-placed snowflake or candy cane eyeliner, U.K.-based makeup artist and blogger @Zoe-artistsharvest is taking her Christmas-themed look to the next, creepy level.
Zoe designed her makeup look around her Elf on the Shelf. Her elf sits atop her head, posed like it’s peeling back her eyelids. She used extra lashes and textural makeup to make the peeling appear all too real. “It’s that time of year again, time to literally keep your eyes peeled for those naughty little elves,” she wrote.

Zoe created the brow-raising look with popular cosmetics like NYX mascara and highlighter and MAC foundation, then added theatrical SynWax from Mehron for the 3D effect. She didn’t stop there: Zoe created a similar look, but this time with an elf pulling down her jawline, complete with SynWax lips and painted teeth.

Last year, Zoe transformed herself into a life-size nutcracker with exaggerated eyes, cheekbones, and an illusion mouth. That soldier coat she’s wearing? It’s also drawn on with body paint.

Illusion mouths seem to be one of Zoe’s specialties. For Halloween, she drew herself a double mouth, with two sets of teeth.

We’re totally in awe of Zoe’s handiwork, but we know that most people need to stick to one painted mouth for the holiday party. Check out more of our favorite holiday beauty looks, and feel free to add your own Elf on a Shelf.
