Bobby Flay Is the First Chef to Get a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
Superstar chef Bobby Flay, 57, takes viewers—along with his daughter, Sophie, 26—on a food tour of the City of Angels in Bobby and Sophie on the Coast (Aug. 22 on Food Network). Here are some fun facts about the Iron Chef, who dropped out of high school at 17 to be a busboy at Joe Allen, a restaurant that’s a favorite with theatergoers.
On Beat Bobby Flay, the Food Network series in which chefs attempt to best him, he has won 241 rounds and lost 150 (to date), for a 61.6 percent winning record.
He credits the Easy-Bake Oven, a Christmas gift from his parents who saw it on his childhood wish list, for his love of cooking.
Flay’s orange Maine coon cat Nacho is an Instagram star (@nachoflay) with 294k followers.

He has said, “Thanksgiving has my three favorite F's: food, football and family. I think we should do it four times a year!”
Flay’s go-to burger is the green chile cheeseburger at La Casa Sena in Santa Fe, New Mexico, which inspired him to create a similar dish for his restaurants.
