So, are we just going to keep pretending that body acne isn't a thing? We have face washes, zit patches, and cleansing brushes all for eradicating facial acne, but here we are, still pretending not to have body acne and devoid of any options to fight it.

As much as I love to play Dr. Pimple Popper and squeeze a juicy back zit, it's actually not an amazing idea nor can you necessarily reach back there very comfortably.

Personally, I've spent most of my life looking for a cure for my body acne long after my hormonal pre-teen facial acne cleared up. It's been embarrassing at times, but mostly it's been frustrating due to a lack of options.

But with some searching, I found an option that gets the job done and then some, despite being marketed for facial acne. And now, I kind of can't live without it – to the point that I search New York City each time it inevitably sells out at my local Walgreens.

The miraculous cure for my body acne has been none other than the Bioré Pore Penetrating Charcoal Bar. And even better, it's only $7.

The charcoal soap bar deep cleans clogged pores, reaching beneath the surface to extract sweat, dirt, and gunk, the biggest culprits behind body acne. Though it's recommended for the face, I find it best for the body thanks to those deep-cleaning abilities. It scrubs away at acne-causing irritants and leaves the skin feeling clean and exfoliated.

The invigorating combination of charcoal, peppermint, and jojoba beads all make for a natural, refreshing scent that awakens and breathes new life into irritated skin.

To use the bar, I simply step into the shower, lather the soap in water until it gets foamier, and use the bar to scrub away at my problem areas. Though those spots can be tough to reach, the bar fits easily into the hand and maneuvers different areas pretty adeptly.

And I'm not the only one who thinks so. It has over 150 five-star reviews on Ulta and over 800 five-star reviews on Amazon. Most often, reviewers make note of the "clean feel" it leaves behind as well as the "improved skin texture" it causes.

This whole time, I've felt like we were all pretending we didn't have body acne in favor of solving facial acne. It turns out the easiest cure was right under my nose in the facial acne aisle at the drugstore for only $7.
