This body-positive activist re-created Kim Kardashian's racy fragrance ad to make a point about 'perfect' bodies
Kim Kardashian‘s body has inspired the design of her new KKW Body fragrance. But for one body-positive activist and plus-size model, it’s also sparked a conversation about what types of figures get idealized by society.
Kardashian has been promoting her new scent, whose bottle was designed using a wax mold made of her body, by showering social media in provocative images of her unclothed curves. The images caught the attention of plus-size influencer Carmen Rene, who also runs the Eat the Cake Too YouTube channel, prompting her to bare her own body for a copycat shoot.

But Rene’s version is not just about imitation. Her message raises a point about body image — and how Kardashian’s body is considered “perfect” while others are not.
“We are constantly surrounded by this idea of what the ‘perfect body’ should look like,” she tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “What I’m inspired by is the idea that all bodies are good bodies. All bodies are perfect bodies. This is not a competition but rather an opportunity to remind others that your body is worthy of your acceptance and beautiful just as it is.
“I created Eat the Cake Too to send a message,” she adds. “The point of Eat the Cake Too is to step outside of the box society likes to put us in. Define your own standard of beauty, and love your body every step of your journey. In the world of self-discovery and body confidence, you can in fact have your cake and you guessed it, eat the cake too.”
Rene’s bold shoot has been praised by fans celebrating her empowering message.
“Truly uplifting and a great empowerment for the beautiful ladies out there struggling with self-love,” read one comment. “This has truly made my day.”
