Bodybuilder Chris Bumstead Shared His Epic Cheat Meal After Winning ‘Mr. Olympia’
Chris Bumstead is in celebration mode after being named the winner of the Classic Physique category of the Mr. Olympia bodybuilding competition for the third year in a row. And that means one hell of a cheat day.
The bodybuilder recently shared a YouTube video showing what his daily menu looked like while he was preparing for the contest, comprising 3,800 calories across five meals. And in his latest video, Bumstead documents his post-win victory eats, starting with a breakfast of champions. Literally. He scarfs down a wrap with egg whites, turkey, mushrooms, spinach with a side of fruit, a chocolate chip pancake, a pumpkin pancake, and coffee.
Bumstead isn't without a sweet tooth, but despite going to several locations (including a deli and a Dunkin' Donuts), he declares them a disappointment when it comes to their pastries offering, and declares Tim Hortons, the popular coffee and donut chain from his homeland of Canada, the true GOAT. For lunch, he settles for a turkey sub on whole wheat, saying: "If you ask what my favorite food is? Sandwich."
This is followed by freshly baked banana bread and cookies, courtesy of Bumstead's girlfriend Courtney King, an Olympia champion in her own right (she won the bikini category in 2016).
Dinner is pizza. While this is a cheat day go-to for many bodybuilders, Bumstead notes that he hasn't had a pie in well over a year, so this is long overdue: he loads up his base with vegan cheese, grilled chicken, pepperoni, green peppers, onions, garlic and oregano. He calls it a day afterwards, but promises to commit to a "more aggressive" cheat day menu at some point in the near future once his body has had a chance to adapt to eating greater amounts and varieties of food.
