Book sale to kick off Christmas holiday season for Randolph County Public Libraries

With the holidays upon us the Randolph County Public Library Friends Bookshop, at 226 Sunset Ave., is giving visitors the chance to give the gift of literacy.

Starting Dec. 9, the bookshop will host what they are calling a "special sale" in which its entire stock is 50% off.

"Find just the right holiday gift for that special person," reads an advertisement for the sale, describing is as the perfect chance to get ahead of holiday shopping.

The sale will run through Dec. 15.

"The sale will kick off from 6-9 p.m. Friday, December 9, during Asheboro’s Christmas Downtown (formerly Christmas on Sunset), and will continue the following week during regular bookshop hours, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, December 10; Tuesday, December 13; and Thursday, December 15," reads information provided by the library.

Library officials encourage residents to take part in the holiday sale. The sale is to free up space for additional book donations.

The Asheboro Library is also framing up with the county's Cooperative Extension to host a holiday baking lesson. Scheduled 2 p.m. on Nov. 29 at 1003 South Fayetteville St., the event will teach participants how to !aka holiday themed confectionaries.
