At This Boston Hotel, You Pay What the Temperature Is Outside

We love a good snowfall, with delicate flakes drifting through the crisp winter air, but a bomb cyclone? Not so much. However, this Boston hotel’s latest promotion might just change the way you feel about freezing-cold temperatures.

The Colonnade Hotel is adjusting its Friday-night rates to match the temperatures outside now through April 8, 2018. While Boston is known for many things, temperate winters are not one of them, meaning you could end up paying less than $10 to spend the night in a fancy-schmancy Back Bay hotel. Whoa.

Frosty Fridays, as the hotel has named the deal, are part of a two-night package. The National Weather Service’s reading of the outside temperature at 5 p.m. on the Friday of your trip determines the cost of that evening’s stay, while the second night is set at a special rate of $289. The deal also includes either tickets for the Old Town Trolley Tour or admission and ice-skating rentals for four at Boston Common Frog Pond, so you can really get your New England winter fix.
