A Botched Makeover Leaves a 'Drag Race' Frontrunner in the Bottom

Last week in a brutal lip sync blowout that will go down in RuPaul's Drag Race herstory, Morphine Love Dion decimated poor little Dawn in a murderous rendition of "Body" by Megan Thee Stallion. With Dawn's exit, only five queens remained in search of the Season 16 crown: Morphine, Sapphira Cristal, Plane Jane, Nymphia Wind and Q.

As is standard operating procedure on Drag Race, the top five returned this week for the makeover challenge in which each drag queen is tasked with transforming a stranger into a member of their drag family with "drag family resemblance" as the primary judging criteria. For this season's victims, male dancers from the RuPaul's Drag Race LIVE! show in Las Vegas were selected for their glowup.

The top five decked out their newly found sisters and the 10 drag queens strutted the runway before performing brief choreographed dance numbers for the judges including country music's Kelsea Ballerini. After a lip sync to her hit "Miss Me More," however, one more queen was sent packing and a top four was finalized.

Morphine Love Dion

On her fourth trip to the bottom, Morphine Love Dion, the season's lip sync assassin and confessional queen, was finally sent packing. With no maxi challenge wins and going against four queens who each have two or more, it seemed inevitable that Morphine would go home this week. However, a makeover challenge certainly played to her strengths and if either Q or Nymphia had stumbled, I think Morphine could have squeaked into the top four. Unfortunately, Sapphira's geode dress debacle landed her in the bottom and there was not a chance in hell (something Sapphira clearly knew) that Ru was sending her and her four wins home short of the finale. RIP Morphine. Can't wait to see that BBL back on All Stars.

Who won Episode 13 of RuPaul's Drag Race Season 16?

Plane Jane

On the top side of things, Plane Jane's matching Berlin bumble bee ensembles secured her a fourth win of the season. Plane and her new drag daughter Lazy Susan barely edged out Q for the win, which now basically makes this season a two-queen race between Sapphira and Plane, each of whom have four challenge wins under their belts. I'm sure Q will have feelings about this next week, especially since this could mean she'll be lip syncing soon (something she's not great at). With only a few episodes left, Plane Jane is flying high.
