Here’s a sentence we never thought we’d say: Brad Pitt bid $120,000 to watch Game of Thrones with Emilia Clarke. Yes, apparently Brad Pitt thinks that viewing just one episode of Game of Thrones alongside Emilia Clarke is worth over 100 grand. And whoa. In case you are unaware, Clarke plays Daenerys, Mother of Dragons, on the HBO show. (A show that isn’t coming back for ANOTHER WHOLE YEAR.)

Brad Pitt and Emilia Clarke, alongside a bunch of other big-name celebs, both attended Sean Penn’s gala dinner this Saturday, January 6th, Us Weekly reports. Penn’s dinner benefitted the J/P Haitian Relief Organization. It works to save lives and bring sustainable programs to people in Haiti, particularly after the devastating earthquake a few years ago.

“During the first auction, Brad was on his phone. When the auction announced Emilia Clarke, they called her out in the crowd and Brad literally turned his whole neck to find and look at her and enthusiastically clap,” someone in attendance told Us Weekly. “He offered $80,000 in the auction to watch Game of Thrones with Emilia.”

But even Brad Pitt can be outbid.

“Emilia was covering her mouth and giggling. Leo [DiCaprio] enthusiastically watched the whole auction, turning his head back and forth between Brad and Emilia,” they continued. “[Pitt] later offered $120,000 and raised his arms in excitement but was out at 150,000. He laughed hysterically when he gave up and they called him out for it.”

Rumor has it that Pitt originally bid $80,000, but raised the price to $120,000 when Kit Harington offered to sit in on the viewing. Honestly, who wouldn’t want to watch the show with Jon Snow?

It’s fine that Pitt wanted to throw down that much money since it’s all for a good cause. But isn’t it just a little weird? And sort of creepy? Bidding that much money just to spend time with Clarke makes us uncomfortable. At least Harington volunteered to join her.

Even though Brad Pitt didn’t win the Game of Thrones experience, he didn’t go home empty-handed. He bid $40,000 for something called a Hoop Dreams experience and won. Which is probably for the best.
