Bradley Cooper Wants to Do a New Hangover Movie
Bradley Cooper isn’t entirely done with The Hangover. The Maestro star has been on a run of serious roles recently, but he’s now offered his availability for a sequel to the outrageous adult comedy.
Speaking on The New Yorker Radio Hour podcast, Cooper said: “I would probably do Hangover 4 in an instant. Just because I love Todd [Phillips], I love Zach [Galifianakis], I love Ed [Helms] so much, I probably would.”
The Hangover’s first film released in 2009, and sees three friends wake up from a bachelor party in Las Vegas with no memory of the previous night. While outrageously hungover, they have to piece together what happened while trying to find the missing husband-to-be.
So, how likely is The Hangover 4? While Cooper’s up for it, the same can’t be said for its director. “I don’t think Todd is ever going to do that,” said Cooper.
Todd Phillips directed all three instalments of The Hangover before going on to critical acclaim with 2019’s Joker. His next film, Joker: Folie à Deux, is currently in production.
As for Cooper, you can see him next in Maestro, a biopic of legendary composer Leonard Bernstein. Despite the unlikely outcome of a new Hangover movie, however, Cooper’s loving his work. “There’s nothing more fun that I’ve experienced than Maestro and A Star is Born,” he said. “I wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t.”
Maestro is in theaters now. It arrives on Netflix December 20. It precedes another musical biopic in Priscilla, although, Sofia Coppola's latest is not for fans of Elvis.
