The brands Mayweather and McGregor will be wearing in this weekend's 'Money Fight'
While everyone’s anticipating this weekend’s fight between undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. and UFC champion Conor McGregor, a number of names in fashion are taking part in a fight of their own. Through numerous announcements made throughout the week, the partners in what’s been dubbed “the Money Fight” have been revealed. Regardless of what side these designer brands may be on, nobody can deny that they make for a pretty fancy lineup.
In Mayweather’s corner are Swiss luxury watch brand Hublot and Philipp Plein, who have created pieces for the boxer both in and outside of the ring. Hublot announced its second partnership with the boxer on Tuesday, when it presented Mayweather with a $1 million timepiece. The customized watch was made with ultrahigh expectations, thanks to the company’s previous partnership during 2015’s “Fight of the Century.” Mayweather will also be rocking the brand’s name on his waistband, just as he did when he took on Manny Pacquiao two years ago.
As for Mayweather’s gear inside of the ring, Philipp Plein announced on Wednesday that he’ll be wardrobing the legendary boxer. Expected to make his entrance into the ring wearing a custom Plein boxing robe and trunks, Mayweather’s team will also be outfitted in the brand. The deal between the two, however, lasts beyond the fight, with a capsule collection that will be available at the designer’s Las Vegas flagship and on Plein.com. Mayweather’s name will continue to brand Plein’s clothing through four additional exclusive collections that will become available over the next two years.
Less has been said about McGregor’s wardrobe for the big day, although he recently wore a custom piece by Donatella Versace. Earlier this month, the UFC champ showed up to a press day for the fight wearing a robe by the legendary designer, who McGregor said “you gotta know to get that.” But fans might have to wait for Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas to find out who exactly he’ll be sporting.
Thank you @donatella_versace for this amazing gift this morning

If that doesn’t sound like enough bling for you, the winner of “the Money Fight” will be taking home the money belt. The belt made its debut during a prefight press conference on Wednesday, where World Boxing Council president Mauricio Sulaiman revealed the alligator leather strap decked out with 3,360 diamonds, 600 sapphires, and 300 emeralds.
As for the one brand Mayweather and McGregor will both be supporting throughout the event, BodyArmor is up to the task. The superhydrating sports drink is an official sponsor of the fight, in both corners of the ring.
