Brazilian Skateboarding Phenom Rayssa Leal Is Getting Her Own Nike SB Dunk Low Sneaker
Brazilian skateboarding phenom Rayssa Leal is getting her first Nike SB Dunk Low collaboration.
Leal, who just turned 16 in January, won a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics for the first time the sport was a part of the games. At 13 years old, she was the youngest Brazilian to ever compete at the Olympics and the youngest Olympic medalist in 85 years.

Befitting of a young Gen Zer, Leal’s SB Dunk features an emoticon smiley face for multi-color beads serving as a lace dubrae and in a repeat, debossed print on the shoe’s quarter. An additional print, the progeny of which is not yet clear, is then used for the cream suede overlays. Purple pebbled leather is used for one of two mismatched Swooshes on each sneaker — the other being dark blue — as well as Leal’s embroidered “R” logo on the lateral foxing and a tongue tag bearing the words, “Rayssa’s Dunk.” Mismatched purple and blue also come to the insoles, while the shoes are rounded out with gum outsoles.
Leal first went viral when she was 6 years old for a video in which she lands a heelflip in a fairy costume, and the nickname “A Fadinha do Skate,” which translates to “Skate Fairy” has stuck with her ever since. She starred in a Nike campaign in 2021, the year in which the 2020 Olympics were actually held, and received her own edition of the book SB Zoom Verona slip-on skate shoe in 2022. Another one of her sponsors is April Skateboards, which just got its own SB Dunk collaboration for the first time last year.
The Rayssa Leal x Nike SB Dunk Low is scheduled to release March 19, likely through the SNKRS app and local skate shops. Retail is set at $125.
