One thing becomes abundantly clear in the quest for the best sandwich spots in Iowa City: the love knows no bounds.

Many restaurants and cafes have at least one option for sandwich lovers alike.

From classic favorites to experimental, here are five great places in the Iowa City area to enjoy a sandwich.

Tucked away in the Iowa River Landing, The Chef’s Board is a relatively new spot in the Iowa City and Coralville area. Its limited menu puts a contemporary twist on traditional favorites, from the New Orleans-style crab cakes topped with an Iowa corn chowder to the W.L.T, an impressive rendition of the B.L.T sandwich, which uses wagyu beef instead of bacon. The restaurant provides a dining experience that is difficult to find anywhere else.
