Brett Kavanaugh faces fourth sexual misconduct allegation, accused of shoving a woman against a wall 'very aggressively and sexually'
Hours after Julie Swetnick claimed that Brett Kavanaugh spiked girls’ drinks with the intent to assault them in the 1980s, a new person has accused him of physical abuse.
According to NBC News, an anonymous person stated that Kavanaugh angrily shoved a woman up against a wall in a sexual manner in 1998. “When they left the bar (under the influence of alcohol) they were all shocked when Brett Kavanaugh, shoved her friend up against the wall very aggressively and sexually,” read the complaint sent to Republican Sen. Cory Gardner of Colorado. “There were at least four witnesses including my daughter.”
NBC reports that Kavanaugh was asked about the new claim Tuesday by committee members and that he dismissed the accusation. “We’re dealing with an anonymous letter about an anonymous person and an anonymous friend. It’s ridiculous. Total twilight zone. And no, I’ve never done anything like that,” Kavanaugh said, according to the news station.
According to a statement given to HuffPost from a spokesperson for the Senate Judiciary Committee Republicans, they “regularly receives anonymous letters, some of which are viewed with credibility, but many of which are not.” The spokesperson added, “To make sure no stone was left unturned, the committee asked Judge Kavanaugh yesterday about this anonymous letter. Judge Kavanaugh flatly denied any such event ever happened.”
Also on Wednesday, attorney Michael Avenatti tweeted a sworn declaration from D.C. resident Swetnick, claiming that in the early 1980s, Kavanaugh would “engage in abusive and physically aggressive behavior toward girls, including pressing girls against him without their consent, ‘grinding’ against girls and attempting to remove or shift girls’ clothing to expose private body parts. I likewise observed him be verbally abusive towards girls by making crude sexual comments to them that were designed to demean, humiliate and embarrass them…”
Swetnick also claimed that at house parties, Kavanaugh and his friend Mark Judge would target girls at parties and spike their drinks with drugs to coerce them sexually. “I have a firm recollection of seeing boys lined up outside rooms at many of these parties waiting for their ‘turn’ with a girl inside the room,” Swetnick said in the statement. “These boys included Mark Judge and Brett Kavanaugh.”
She also shared her own drugged rape at which Kavanaugh and Judge allegedly bore witness. “During the incident, I was incapacitated without my consent and unable to fight off the boys raping me. I believe I was drugged using Quaaludes or something similar placed in something I was drinking,” she said.
CNBC reported that Kavanaugh responded to Swetnick’s claims with, “This is ridiculous and from the Twilight Zone. I don’t know who this is and this never happened.”
Another woman named Deborah Ramirez has alleged that during a party at Yale University, Kavanaugh dropped his pants and exposed his genitals in her face. Kavanaugh has said Ramirez’s claim “did not happen.”
On Thursday, Kavanaugh and Professor Christine Blasey Ford will testify for the Senate Judiciary Committee about her claims that he sexually assaulted her during a high school house party (behavior he denies).
