Bride stormed out of her wedding saying 'hugely pregnant bridesmaid' stole the show
The Bride took to Reddit almost two months after her $30,000 wedding to vent her frustration with a pregnant bridesmaid who reportedly stole the show — and the internet is not sympathetic.
In the thread, the bride claimed “Anna’s” advanced pregnancy, hot husband, and “vibrant personality” combined to destroy the day she spent three years planning and she wasn’t happy.
“She was hugely pregnant, and didn’t refrain from showing it off,” the woman explained. “In my husband’s culture, getting pregnant before late 20s/30s, married or not, is basically a teenage pregnancy and drew ATTENTION.”
“All anyone spoke about or of was Anna’s pregnancy and her attractive husband.”
The bride disclosed that she had been unable to see the ceremony through and left halfway through the reception. “I can’t even look at the pictures without crying and desperately want a do over,” she said. “I honestly feel like Anna owes me a wedding.”
Predictably users were left scratching — and shaking — their collective heads.
Many questioned her assessment that Anna could have tried to hide a “very pregnant belly.”
“How is she supposed to refrain from showing a pregnancy off… especially if she’s hugely pregnant?” asked one. “Coat check her uterus,” suggested another.
Others took issue with any culture equating a mid-20’s pregnancy with a teenage one.
“In what country is being 25, married, and pregnant considered a “teenage pregnancy?” asked one baffled user.
Most concluded the bride was way out of line. “Getting angry at a bridesmaid for being pregnant, or — gasp — having an attractive husband and an outgoing personality is just ridiculous,” said one.
It’s not the first time a bride has had an issue with a pregnant bridesmaid. Earlier this week a bride was slammed online for suggesting a pregnant friend get an abortion in order to be a part of the bridal party.
