‘Bridgerton’ Series Creator Says the Show Could Run for a Whopping 8 Seasons

1 min read

Can’t get enough of Netflix’s Bridgerton? Well (good news!), the popular series is far from over.

Series creator Chris Van Dusen recently sat down for an interview with Collider and addressed the burning question: Will Bridgerton return for more seasons? Although Netflix hasn’t made an official announcement, Van Dusen revealed that he’s eyeing a multiple season run.

“This being a family of eight children and there being eight books, I would love to be able to focus and really tell stories and love stories for all the Bridgerton siblings,” he said.

When asked if there will be eight seasons (just like the namesake book series by Julia Quinn), Van Dusen confirmed that’s the goal, adding, “I would love that. In success, I would love that.”

Netflix hasn’t shared any details about the future storyline. Still, Nicola Coughlan (who plays Penelope “Pen” Featherington) admitted that there’s far more drama to explore.

“Because I read book four first, I saw Penelope ten years on from what she would be in season one, so she’s very different in that,” she told the outlet. “I think human beings, we mature, we’re inherently the same, but seeing her at that level of maturity was fascinating to me, so I’d love to carry on with that…And I think because of the books too, the protagonists change every year, would be really interesting to see.”

Your move, Netflix.
