Bright Spot: Marching Illini sousaphones break fundraising record for 5K run

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — As featured for our June 9th Bright Spot, the Marching Illini sousaphones made it their mission yet again to run the Christie Clinic 5K with their 40-pound instruments on their backs.

Marching Illini Director Barry Houser took to Instagram to post about the event. He announced that the group raised nearly $10,000 for Crisis Nursery in Urbana — the highest yearly total to date.
