Brigitte Macron Recycled Her Louis Vuitton Inauguration Outfit
Brigitte Macron, the first lady of France, does not dress like a typical politician’s wife: At age 64, she rocks short skirts, spiky stilettos, and skinny jeans.
But her latest outfit — a pale blue Louis Vuitton minidress and nude pumps — is turning heads for a new reason: It’s the same look she wore to the May 14 inauguration ceremony for her husband, Emmanuel Macron, except for the matching military-style jacket.
To attend a concert of the Philharmonie de Paris concert hall in Paris on Friday with her husband, along with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos and his wife, María Clemencia Rodríguez, Brigitte recycled the entire outfit.
The first lady has a reported love for Louis Vuitton, as evidenced by her array of colorful handbags and front-row presence at fashion shows, according to Vogue. But with a world of designers at her fingertips, it’s curious that she wore the same dress — one that generated headlines for its Jacqueline Kennedy and Melania Trump overtones, and at a world-famous event — for a Friday night outing.
That said, many celebrities keep a style archive of go-to outfits — Kate Middleton, a repeat offender, even owns several versions of the same blue-and-white-striped shirt, which she pairs with different blazers and jeans.
But re-wearing a style centerpiece only one month after showing it off at a major world event? Pourquoi pas? Just one more reason why Brigitte has been declared a “mega wonderwoman” of the fashion world — and is clearly confident in whatever she wears.
