Britney Spears Dances With Knives Again and Speaks Out on Wellness Check
Britney Spears is once again assuring concerned fans that everything is all right after posting a video of herself dancing with kitchen knives.
Though the pop star later clarified that the knives weren't real, she appeared to have obtained new cuts on her extremities around the same time, and police were called to her home for a welfare check.
Now, she's doubling down on the assurance, reiterating their prop status in another dancing video in which she twirls with one in each hand, thwacking them together with a distinctly metallic clang and even smacking her butt cheeks with the faux blades.
"I know I spooked everyone with the last post, but these are fake knives that my team rented from Hand Prop shop in LA," she wrote alongside the newest clip. "These are not real knives. No one needs to worry or call the police."
However, the LAPD reportedly revealed that fans aren't able to request welfare checks on their idols, and that the call made regarding Spears on Wednesday, Sept. 27, came from someone who claimed to personally know the "Baby One More Time" singer.
Spears also emphasized that she was taking inspiration from Shakira, who used prop knives in her performance at this year's VMAs: "Cheers to us bad girls who aren’t afraid to push boundaries and take risks ????????????!"
The Hand Prop Room, based in Los Angeles, has supplied props and custom graphics for shows like Superstore, Blackish, Homeland, and more. They maintain a 30,000-square-foot facility packed full of rentable props, including guns and knives.
According to their website, they can find or create anything their customers come looking for if it's not already on their roster.
