Brooke Shields Sobs After Daughter Leaves for College
"Turns out the second time is NOT the charm when it comes to your baby going off to college."
Brooke Shields just sent her daughter off to college for her sophomore year and the 57-year-old claimed it wasn't any easier than the first time she left for college.
The actress shared a very raw moment on TikTok this afternoon after saying her goodbyes and sending her 19-year-old daughter, Rowan Francis Henchy, off to college at Wake Forest University located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
In the video, Shields can be seen with tears streaming down her face as she sat outside and spoke to her phone camera about how she felt watching her daughter grow up.
Text floating above the model's weeping face read: "Turns out the second time is NOT the charm when it comes to your baby going off to college."

"So I just waved my daughter goodbye again and I thought it would be easier the second time. She's already been away and been with me all summer, but... I'm not making the drive with her, she's driving with her dad [Chris Henchy]."
She also noted: "But she's taking my car," which was a graduation present.
She went on to explain why she didn't go along to drop off Rowan–and it's not because she didn't want to be there.
"It was just too painful, I don't think I could go through [with] driving away from campus again. So if there's anyone else going through this, we're all in it together."
But in a time of sorrow, the actress still knows how to crack a joke. As she looked into the camera, face full of tears she whined: "And I need to get my roots done."
Shields cackled at herself before she began weeping again.
"It's so hard, I miss her already. Our babies. This is what you want. You raise them so that they leave you," she said in between sobs.
She expressed further heartbreak in the caption, which read: "I’ll be crying if you need me… ???? #backtoschool #momsoftiktok #motherhood".
Back in November of 2021, the model made an appearance on Live With Kelly and Ryan where she spoke about dropping Rowan off at school for the first time, noting that it was the, "worst thing I've ever experienced in my life."
Host and mom Kelly Ripa, chimed in, "It gets easier." She joked, "By the third one, you barely slow the car down. 'Jump out here at the light!'"
