On June 4, the art collector and philanthropist W. Bruce C. Bailey held his second Canadian Fête Champêtre. Held at Bailey's estate just outside Toronto, the event drew nearly 600 guests and served as a fundraiser for the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Guests—including guest of honor Suzanne Rogers, MMFA director Stéphane Aquin, and NFL star Laurent Duvernay-Tardif—gathered for a fancy dress party inspired by Paris's 1863 Salon des Refusés; the day included performances, art installations, a seated lunch in Bailey's hayloft, and a live auction. Additionally, the day paid tribute to artist Peter Doig, who donated a painting titled "Study for Iron Hill" to the institution. All told, $1 million was raised and art valued at $4.1 million was donated.
