At the end of September, Buddy Valastro, AKA the "Cake Boss," was involved in a freak accident when a bowling pin resetter malfunctioned in his New Jersey home. He's been sharing updates on his recovery and recently posted a photo on Instagram that shows him icing a cake using his non-dominant hand.

Buddy was bowling at home with his family when a piece of equipment malfunctioned, ultimately injuring his dominant right hand. A "metal rod slowly and repeatedly impaled his hand three times between his ring finger and middle finger," a representative told PEOPLE at the time.

Since then, Buddy has posted a picture from his hospital bed with a large cast on his right hand and arm. He then followed up with a photo from his home sitting with his arm elevated and surrounded by his wife and children. In the caption, he thanks his family for their support.

Now it seems that Buddy is getting back into the swing of things by learning how to ice cakes using his left hand. In a photo posted to his Instagram page, his children each have a small cake to decorate, and he's using a piping bag to ice his own. "Family time is the BEST time! Doing it all over again, left handed..." he wrote in the caption, he also added hashtags like "#Recovery" and "#Lefty" at the end of his post.

Looks like he'll be back at it in no time, and before we know it, we'll see him on Cake Boss and Buddy vs. Duff soon enough.
