How long are the dates on Love Is Blind?

Each of the 15 male contestants dates each of the 15 female contestants for about 15 minutes in the first round. From there, contestants rank their favorite matches and producers set up future dates based on mutual interest. There are no time restrictions on dates after the first date.

Contestants have only 10 days (around 20 dates in total) to find their future partner, according to Netflix..

“If I was serious about finding my wife on Love Is Blind, I would probably spend every waking hour that I could talking to the people that I'm connecting with, and that's what most of them choose to do,” Love Is Blind creator Chris Coelen told Netflix.

Are contestants paid for appearing on Love Is Blind?

Love Is Blind stars are getting paid, but that doesn’t mean they’re getting rich.

In 2022, Love Is Blind Season 2 contestant Jeremy Hartwell filed a lawsuit against the production company in charge of the show, saying he was paid a flat rate of just $1,000 per week.

“When you add up all the time you’re on camera—16 hours a day sometimes—it’s definitely lower than minimum wage,” Season 1’s Cameron Hamilton said in Leap of Faith, the book he wrote with fellow contestant and now-wife, Lauren Speed.

Who pays for the engagement rings on Love Is Blind?

Engagement rings don’t cost contestants a dime. Production foots the bill those stunning rings, and, unlike on The Bachelor, couples get to keep the rings even if things don’t work out.

Season 1’s Hamilton recounted picking his future wife’s ring just minutes before meeting her. “Pick the one with the biggest rock!” he recalled telling himself, according to his memoir.

Does production pay for the weddings on Love Is Blind?

Couples facing the one of the biggest decisions of their lives don’t have to worry about going into debt for their big day. Netflix plans and pays for the elaborate ceremonies. Celebrity event planner Slomique Hawrylo never meets the couples in person. Instead, she gives each couple a questionnaire and bases their weddings around their answers.

According to Netflix, Hawrylo said that between $50,000-$60,000 of her budget went to florals in Season 4, whereas their tent took up $120,000. Season 4 couples were budgeted to invite 80-100 guests.

If couples choose to go above and beyond, they’re expected to pick up those additional costs.

Does Love Is Blind provide clothes for contestants?

Nope! Love Is Blind Season 1’s Kelly Chase said they had to bring their own clothes and do their own hair and makeup for the show. “I actually borrowed mostly every single piece that I wore on the show because I did not have the wardrobe for TV,” Chase said on TikTok.

As far as knowing what to pack, contestants are told to bring outfits they would “wear on dates, but also beach clothes and comfy attire like sweatpants and pajamas,” Lauren Speed wrote in Leap of Faith. She said many of the girls hired stylists and personal shoppers on their own dime to help them with their wardrobes.
