Butterfly Angel Brings Comforting Joy To Grieving Wife: "I Know It Was Him!"

On her husband’s birthday, Woman’s World reader Christianne Ashton Henderson was gifted a beautiful sign that comforted her.

Christianne’s Guardian Angel story told in her own words:

My beloved husband, Lester, passed away just as we were about to celebrate our 58th year of marriage. He had undergone chemotherapy for two years and two months when we were referred to hospice by his oncologist. Nine days later, he died.

We were comforted by our hospice chaplain praying the 23rd Psalm with Lester the minute that he went home to our Lord. In the coming days, I missed him terribly, and his children and grandchildren mourned his loss. They had all been an important part of his life, and he loved them dearly.

Three months later, my daughter, Aimee, and I went to the cemetery to celebrate his 80th birthday, taking beautiful flowers that had been dedicated to him at our church.

As we approached his graveside, we both said that we wished that we could know that he was able to hear us, because we were going to sing “Happy Birthday” to him, with tears, of course. We placed the flowers on the grave, held hands and began singing to him.

At that moment, a large butterfly fluttered in front of our faces, quickly disappearing. We sang happily and rejoiced because we knew that the butterfly was Lester saying, “I am with you.”

Later, our entire family gathered to celebrate his birthday and enjoyed sharing many memories, delighting each other with wonderful stories of my husband, their father and grandfather.

The beautiful memories that he had left us were a magnificent legacy. As I walked the last family to their car and said goodbye, the same butterfly appeared directly in my face and immediately was gone.

Again, I knew that Les was telling me, “I am with you.” Yes, he had been with us, and we all thank our Father for sending the angel as a beautiful butterfly!
