Call for classic cars for state parks centennial celebration at Cumberland Falls

Jul. 25—CUMBERLAND FALLS — Cumberland Falls State Resort Park is gearing up to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Kentucky's state park system with a grand event — with the Cumberland Valley Cruise-In pitching in to help.

According to a Cruise-In Facebook post, the event is scheduled for August 31, from 4-8 p.m.

Part of the festivities will include a special display of classic cars from the 1930s and 1940s at the parking area behind the park's pool.

The organizers of the Cumberland Valley Cruise-In are looking for a maximum of 20 vintage vehicles to showcase during this historic celebration.

Organizers are particularly interested in cars from the 1930s and 1940s to highlight the automotive history of the era when the Cumberland Falls State Resort Park was first established in 1931, aiming to offer a nostalgic journey through time.

Car enthusiasts and owners of eligible vehicles are encouraged to participate in this unique event. For more information, visit the Cumberland Valley Cruise-In social media pages or contact them at (606) 528-8860.

In addition to the centennial for Kentucky State Parks, Cumberland Falls is also celebrating winning the Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice Award for 2024. Announced earlier this month, the award places the park among the top 10% of attractions worldwide, as determined through positive reviews on the Tripadvisor site.
