Call All Your Friends, You Need a Wine and Crafts Night
D.I.Wine Night (noun): An evening in which you and your closest friend(s) hold a wine glass in one hand and a paint brush, crayon, marker, or even a pom-pom maker in the other, as you try your hand at the wildest DIY creations on Pinterest.
If you're not having D.I.Wine Nights, consider this your PSA - wine and craft nights are fun, hilarious, and believe it or not, relaxing. The concept is like adult coloring books paired with your favorite adult beverage, thrown in with people who make you happy. And, it certainly beats a night out at the bar. For starters, instead of being left with a hangover the next day, you're left with a really cute (or maybe hysterically misshapen) craft and abs that are sore from laughing so hard. Trust me when I say there is nothing funnier then watching your tipsy best friend attempt to melt a crayon with her blowdryer. Even if you're better at sipping on rosé then you are at making crafts, you're guaranteed a good time.
Don't just take my word for it, either. There are institutions for drinking and crafting popping up all over the country - from Pinot's Palette, a paint and sip bar that has over 140 locations, to a DIY Bar in Portland, where customers booze and craft. There's a reason that these places are in demand, and it's because drinking and crafting is so damn fun.
So, text your group chat. Your Friday night out is officially cancelled on behalf of needing to have a D.I.Wine Night instead. And, should you need some inspo for what craft to start with - or want to see how fun it really is - watch The D.I.Wine Show on YouTube.
