When your Thanksgiving turkey is barely cooked (even though it’s been in the oven for hours)… what do you do? You call the Turkey Talk-Line. Turkey purveyor Butterball has offered the free turkey-cooking helper through phone, text, email, live chat, and more since its debut in 1981, and this November, it’s available hands-free through Amazon Alexa. Now stride fearlessly into your kitchen on Thanksgiving knowing that expert turkey assistance is just an “Alexa” away.

Through November and December, more than 50 Turkey Talk-Line staffers will be ready to answer pressing turkey questions in both English and Spanish in the U.S. and Canada. To start, just enable the Butterball skill on your Alexa device. When it’s cookin’ time, say “Alexa, ask Butterball…” anything from how long to roast your 11-pound turkey to how best to stuff the bird. The service will then match your question with an FAQ, and a Talk-Line expert will tell you the answer.

“The Turkey Talk-Line is focused on one-on-one help for cooking turkey – whether it’s a first-time cook or a 20-year Thanksgiving veteran,” Nicole Johnson, co-director of the Butterball Turkey Talk-Line, said in a press release. “Nothing will ever replace a phone call with an expert, but our goal is to reach cooks where it’s convenient for them and give them the confidence to ‘Host Like a Boss’ through as many means as possible.”

You can also look at Butterball’s YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest for how-to videos, recipes, and cooking tips.
