The Cambridge Kids Just Made Their Adorable Royal Carriage Debut With Kate Middleton!
Celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee have officially kicked off this morning with Trooping the Colour, and the Cambridge kids arrived in style. Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis made their carriage debut at the event, riding with their mom, Kate Middleton, as well as Duchess Camilla:
Here’s a look at Kate’s chic ’fit:
Can you even with Prince Louis’s little sailor outfit? Like, CAN! YOU! EVEN!
This is the first time George, Charlotte, and Louis have arrived at Trooping the Colour in a carriage, which is apparently a big and very fancy deal. Their appearance was previously reported on by The Telegraph, which said the Cambridge kids will have a “visible” role in the celebrations and will also “join the Duchess of Cambridge at the Tower of London moat for the Superbloom flower show.”
By the way, if you’re wondering WTF Trooping the Colour is, it’s essentially a giant birthday parade for the Queen, which this year coincides with the Jubilee. Typically, the Queen inspects her troops (“the colour” refers to a regiment’s flags) and then heads to the Buckingham Palace balcony for a Royal Air Force flypast.
William, Kate, and their kids will be on the balcony for this moment, but sadly, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry won’t be due to the event being for working members of the royal family only. However! The Sussexes (and their kids, Archie and Lilibet!) are expected to be watching from the Major General’s Office along with other members of the royal family. This will be the first time many members of the royal family will be meeting Archie and Lili, so today is officially a family reunion!
