This may be a gross understatement, but 2020 has been a real shitshow of a year. Yet, somehow, here we are—in December, the Final Frontier. But in perfect 2020 fashion, this historic year is going out with a bang: To say the very least, 2020’s astrology is…intense AF. So take a big deep breath, exhale, and let’s dive in. After all, the only way out is through.
On December 14, a Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius continues the Gemini-Sagittarius eclipse narrative that began a few months ago. This is the second eclipse of the season (the first, a Lunar Eclipse in Gemini, occurred on November 30), so no doubt there have been some cataclysmic changes over the last few weeks—although the bulk of it is likely coming from within. This eclipse activates the psychic region of your chart, so don’t be surprised if you feel extra intuitive under this sky. Those gut rumblings may not just be signaling lunchtime! In fact, tons of extrasensory data is stored in your physical body, so under this sky, carve out some time to check in. Whether you need a run, stretch, or a nap, this Solar Eclipse is an invitation to honor your internal truths.
Next, on December 17, Saturn—the task-master of the solar system—enters Aquarius, where it will remain until 2023. This is a big deal, Cancer love. If you were born between 1991 and 1994, Saturns’ movement into Aquarius kicks off your Saturn Return, a major milestone that facilitates cataclysmic growth. However, even if you weren’t born within this time period, Saturn’s movement into Aquarius has tremendous implications: Through 2023, you’ll be redefining your perception of intimacy.
Yes, Cancer love, this means you will need to chip away at that tough armor…but don’t worry, you’ll be supported in that project. Jupiter also moves into Aquarius on December 19 and—for the first time in 12 years—Jupiter will help you separate the past from the present. With Jupiter moving through Aquarius until next December, consider the implications of your bonds. Is the give-and-take still working for you? If not, it may be time to suggest some changes. And that’s definitely something to celebrate.
December 21 will be a day for the history books. Not just because it’s the first day of Capricorn season and Winter Solstice, but because Jupiter and Saturn will be aligning for the first time since Y2K. Forming the “Great Conjunction” in Aquarius, this astrological milestone marks the beginning of a new 20-year cycle, as well as a 200-year cycle (yes, we’re officially entering the Age of Aquarius). This is huge, Cancer darling, so be sure you're prepared for the occasion with lots of scrapbook material—you'll want to remember this day! For you, today's Great Conjunction marks a major interpersonal milestone: Are you in or out? You may be feeling somewhat impulsive under this sky, but take time to think through this decision. After all, the choices you make this month may influence the rest of your life. You know, NBD.
But that’s not all! On December 29, this year’s only Full Moon in your sign electrifies the sky. No doubt you’ve been receiving a lot of shocking information throughout the month, but thanks to the Full Moon, you realize that you have the ability to decide how you want to use this data. Sure, you may not always like what others do, but other people’s actions (and reactions) are totally out of your control. This lunation offers you a tremendous personal breakthrough: the more you understand the inner workings of your relationships, the more you can connect with your own individual wants, needs, and expectations. And as we careen into 2021, this self-awareness will be paramount. Go get ‘em, Cancer!
