We Can't Get Over the Rare Finds Up For Grabs at This Arizona Auction House
An autographed photo of Abraham Lincoln and a program from Prince Charles and Lady Diana's wedding, also signed, are among items that went up for sale at a Scottsdale, Arizona, auction house today.
The rare collectibles are part of J. Levine Auction and Appraisal's summer catalog featuring fine art, décor, and jewelry. Other notable items in the collection include an original Barbara Streisand music score signed by Babs herself, an Andy Warhol drawing, two Rembrandt etchings, and antique books including a limited edition print of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
The Lincoln portrait, a tiny carte-de-visite photograph double matted in a gold frame, has been in a central Arizona woman's family for generations, owner Josh Levine told the Arizona Republic. Lincoln likely gifted it to supporters to show thanks, Levine added. It is expected to sell for as much as $20,000 at auction.
The official Royal Wedding program from Prince Charles and Lady Di's nuptials—signed, framed, and accompanied by a photo—is estimated to go for between $800 and $1,200. Prospective buyers have placed three bids already.
Streisand's original score to Tell Him, a duet between the Academy Award-winning singer and actress and Celine Dion, released in 1997, could go for up to $800. It's also signed by writer Linda Thompson and producer David Foster.
The auction house is no stranger to high-profile antiques: Wyatt Earp's Colt 45 sold there last August for $225,000. On Sunday, an 1882 Colt Single Action Army Revolver that once belonged to American west frontiersman Bat Masterson is expected to bring upwards of $100,000.
