To the genius out there who first discovered that a hint of salt makes sweet things exponentially more amazing, we salute you. The combination of flavors makes it impossible not to go back for another bite—trust us, we've tested it with brownies and banana bread already—which is why this beautiful sheet cake is the perfect crowd-pleasing dessert for any get-together.

Classic vanilla cake is topped with a layer of creamy salted-caramel frosting (yeah, you'll definitely want to lick the bowl), but that's not the end of it. The confection gets a generous drizzle of salted caramel sauce, plus a sprinkling of crunchy toffee morsels (we used Heath Bits 'o Brickle Toffee Bits) and a touch of flaky sea salt to balance it all out.

If you've ever cut into a cake that you slaved over only to find that it's crumbly and disappointing on the inside, you'll definitely want to take note of our trick for this moist cake—the key is mixing 1/2 cup of plain yogurt in with the wet ingredients to give the batter just the right consistency.

If you're feeling fancy, whip up your own homemade salted caramel sauce for the topping, but store-bought is totally fair game, plus a simple way to save yourself some time. Just don't forget to keep an eye on your party guests...they might be tempted to grab a fork and eat this right out of the pan.
