Cardi B Appears to Have Gotten a Tattoo On Her Face
It looks like Cardi B has some new ink, and it's in a surprising location.
A new video from tattoo artist Robinson De Los Santos posted on his Instagram page shows him adding new ink to the rapper's face, making it Cardi B's first face tattoo.
In the video, De Los Santos wears gloves and holds a tattoo machine as he works in red ink near her jaw area.
In the short clip, Cardi B covers her face with a blue towel. After the video surfaced, fans found a picture posted by De Los Santos of him with the 29-year-old Grammy winner, which a fan page reposted on Instagram.
The two are smiling at the camera, with Cardi B's new face art visible.
The tattoo is text in red ink, though it's hard to see exactly what it says in the picture.
Many commented beneath De Los Santos' video questioning the choice of Cardi B's new tattoo, with a few simply writing, "Why?"
Others came to her defense, pointing out that it's her choice to get a face tattoo or not, and she can do whatever she wants.
One fan wrote, "Her body her choice y'all buggin and what she does doesn't even affect your daily life," while another added, "tattoos or no tattoos, what's on your skin does not define you as a person."
Cardi B has quite a few pieces of body art already, including a hand displaying "I love you" in sign language behind her ear and text reading her sister's name, "Hennessy," on the inside of her arm.
It seems that face tattoos are trending right now, as Cardi's fellow famous rapper Drake also got one recently.
Earlier this month, the "Hotline Bling" artist shared his new tattoo—his mother's initials, "S.G."—with the world on social media. The new ink is situated directly beneath his eye.
The public had mixed reactions to the news. Some were completely against his new ink, while others felt inspired.
In Cardi B's case, it's still unclear exactly what the tattoo is, so fans will have to wait and see what the ink says when the 29-year-old rapper shows it off for the first time in public.
