Carnation Festival queen contenders donate 1,900 pounds of food

The contestants in the 2024 Greater Alliance Carnation Festival queen pageant were honored for donations to Alliance Community Pantry.

This year, the young women collected for than 1,900 pounds of food. Overall, the queen pageant contestants have donated more than 38,000 pounds of food since the project began.

Top donor this year was Kaitlyn Waite, who brought in more than 800 pounds of food. Waite is a senior at Alliance High School and is sponsored by White Physical Therapy.

The young women were recognized at a recent Alliance Elks Club meeting during a gathering of parents and sponsors.
