“Mexico is key to the Herrera brand,” said company president Emilie Rubinfeld, noting the Venezuelan namesake’s affinity for the aesthetics of the country and current creative director Wes Gordon’s continued inspiration from the place.

Although El Palacio de Hierro has sold Herrera beauty and fragrance since the 1990s and had a CH Carolina Herrera shop-in-shop since the early 2000s, the pop-up marks the first time the runway collection will be available at the luxury department store.

“To be able to partner with Palacio on creating this Casa Herrera linked to the fashion show really completes the picture of this project,” said Rubinfeld of the space, open through Feb. 28, which mimics the look of the Madison Avenue boutique.

“We are delighted to welcome Carolina Herrera New York at El Palacio del Hierro, thus strengthening our luxury ecosystem and offering our customers the most elevated experience,” said Claudia Fabela, chief commercial officer, luxury, El Palacio de Hierro. “The addition of the couture factor to the brand’s already robust assortment makes its presence come full circle. This collaboration is sure to delight the brand’s devoted clients with a meticulously curated selection that truly embodies the brand’s sophistication and Wes Gordon’s exquisite vision.”

Mexico is among the top 10 markets for Puig globally and continues to grow and strengthen its position, according to the Herrera brand. The country has become an increasingly attractive destination for luxury brands with Dior, Louis Vuitton and Golden Goose among those to have opened stores and had activations there recently.
