Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big Are Basically Instagram Official
[SOUND] Coinage, life, well spent. Presented by Geico. Carrie Bradshaw first strutted her Manolo Blahniks in 1998 on the hit HBO show Sex and the City. From her lavish wardrobe to handsome boyfriends, we all dreamed of being the charismatic writer. So how much would it cost to be Carrie in today's economy? Her one bedroom, one bathroom brown stone walk up, on the upper east side cost $750 per month on the show. In reality an apartment of her size would at least cost $2800 per month. That's nearly three new pairs of Christian Louboutins! Besides her rent, Carrie would also have to pay for her utilities. An average bill in the Big Apple runs about $125. Being a freelance writer, she'd need WiFi for about $60 a month. Everyone knows the blonde columnist loves her cocktails. In the series she's often seen sipping cosmos with her best friends. A cocktail in NYC costs $15 on average. Assuming she drinks at least six a week, that's $90. Each month, Carrie would spend around $360 on drinks, but this is assuming that she's footing the bill and not her new boyfriend. Add another $50 per day since she probably orders food while she's out. We can't have a list of Carrie's expenses without mentioning her shoe shopping habit. Since she's admitted to spending $40,000 on heels, Carey has to purchase at least a pair each month. On the low end, her favorite shoe brands cost around $650 a pair. If she picks up 3 new pairs, that's $1,950 a month. Carey's monthly expenditures would be almost $7,000. With a median salary for journalists around $39,600 a year, that puts Carrie's total debt at around $43,530. Better lay off the shopping sprees. Coinage. Life, well spent. Presented by GEICO.
In the wake of a strange slew of stories that had us wondering whether we’d gone back in time to 2002, Sex and the City drama has been at an all-time high.
Does Kim Cattrall want Samantha to die? Can SATC 3 prosper without the N.Y.C. brunch crew’s boldest member? Many questions have swirled, few of which pose positive answers.
But just when we thought all hope of an SATC cast reunion was lost, Sarah Jessica Parker showed us the light.
On Friday, Chris Noth (aka Mr. Big) shared an amazing throwback photo for Stephen Colbert’s #PuberMe Puerto Rico relief project. The grainy black-and-white image shows a young (and very serious) Noth staring into the distance, a curtain of dark and wavy locks falling past his shoulders.
“Hey @stephenathome, so glad I don't have to wash that anymore... Puerto Rico, stay strong! We are with you! #PuberMe #puertoricorelief,” the actor captioned the photo.

Then, something incredible happened—SJP (aka the Carrie Bradshaw to Noth’s Mr. Big, who comprised one of the most iconic couples in modern TV history) commented on her former (and possibly future … ?) co-star’s throwback photo.
And it wasn’t just any comment—it was filled with love and praise for the man she shared many a scene with over the years.
“Beeeeeautiful!!!!! Xx,” she wrote, and with that our Carrie/Big-shipping selves were vindicated.
We might not get a third Sex and the City film, but at least we can rest easy knowing that Carrie and Mr. Big’s love is (almost) real.
