Casa Hispana Fox Cities hosts Latino Fest in Appleton in celebration of Hispanic/Latinx culture

APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – The 9th Annual Latino Fest at Pierce Park on Saturday recruited the community to come together and celebrate the culture of Hispanic/Latinx people.

Hosted by Casa Hispana Fox Cities, the event ran from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., featuring live musical performances, dances art demonstrations and other cultural expressions to represent the diversity of the Fox Valley’s Hispanic/Latinx community.

The event also provided information for those interested in learning about local non-profits and more ways to get involved in the community.

Carlos Salazar, the Executive Director of Casa Hispana said the festival is a great time for people to come together.

“It’s a time for people in the Fox Valley to know that los latinos y hispanos están aquí. We are here also.” Salazar said. “We’re so joyful to be here and tell people who we are.”

There was also a variety of food vendors available, as well as a parade, adding to the festivities at Pierce Park.

The Casa Hispana organization is a non-profit that works to advocate for the Hispanic/Latinx community of the Fox Valley via programming and education as they work to ensure the future generations of their community. They also provide scholarships and community resources both in English and Spanish.
