Cat Left Frightened and Confused at Shelter After His Beloved Human Passed Away

Poor Romeo needs someone new to love him.

Romeo the tabby cat is a shy little gentleman, but it makes complete sense after all he's gone through. He's only five years old and he barely gets out of bed! His caretakers at @humanebroward hope that a little bit of love can change that, though.

This frightened guy was brought to the shelter after his beloved owner got sick and passed away. A neighbor stepped in to take care of him for a while, but now Romeo needs a forever home.

Poor Romeo! Our hearts are breaking for this quiet little kitty, but we're so glad he's getting the attention and love he deserves. He's one step closer to a forever home!

"Romeo I love sweet baby!" wrote commenter @nuggetandnoodlee. "You deserve the best, my love. I am so sorry your best friend passed away. You were and are still loved." Aww! We wish we could help Romeo understand how many people are rooting for him. It might just be the boost he needs!

In the meantime, though, we're so relieved that this kitty is out of the shelter. A foster may not be able to replace a forever home, but it can--without a doubt--help him come out of his shell.

Viewer @al_ibarra77 agreed, writing, "Good to see he is out of the shelter and with a foster. May you find your new forever home, Romeo." Exactly! Maybe his foster will fall in love, or maybe @bayleejoyb will go meet this special boy.

They asked, "omg [...] this is in Davie?" Indeed! The Humane Society of Broward County is located in Davie, Florida--so if you're in the area, consider meeting Romeo!
