Celebrate July 4th in the Canandaigua area this week
Of course, celebrating America’s independence and the red, white and blue will be a big part of most everyone’s schedule this week.
But rest assured, there is more to do.
Here’s what’s happening this week.
1. Fireworks in Farmington
The town of Farmington is planning its Fourth of July celebration with an event that includes fireworks, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at Farmington Town Park, 1000 County Road 8. The celebration includes food, vendors and band. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs. Fireworks will go off at dusk.
2. Enjoy Canandaigua’s Fourth of July parade
The parade gets started at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 4, near City Hall at the Main Street and Ontario Street intersection. The parade ends at Booth Street near Canandaigua Lake. Over 75 units and organizations will be participating. A judging stand will be at Commons Park.
3. Fireworks at Lincoln Hill Farms
Lincoln Hill Farms Fourth of July: 1-10 p.m. July 4 at Lincoln Hill Farms, 3792 state Route 247, Canandaigua. Visitors will enjoy live music throughout the day with ROC Star Academy followed by BB Dang. Lawn games, food, drink and more events are planned. Fireworks will go off at dark. 4. Get centered on Canandaigua Lake
Enjoy paddleboard yoga from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. July 4 and Saturday, July 6, with Finger Lakes Yogascapes, 811 S. Main St., Canandaigua. Participants will reconnect with nature and relax with paddleboard yoga on the lake. Boards and anchors will be provided. All levels are welcome; no prior experience required. 5. Norah Jones performs at CMAC
The Grammy Award-winning Norah Jones is coming to CMAC. Doors open at 6 p.m. Friday, July 5, at Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center, 3355 Marvin Sands Drive. Jones is known for songs such as “Don’t Know Why,” “Come Away With Me” and many others. Mavis Staples is the special guest. 6. Fireworks in Canandaigua
The city and town of Canandaigua have joined together to sponsor a fireworks show. The event begins at dusk (approximately 9:25 p.m.) July 6 at Kershaw Park, 155 Lakeshore Drive, on the north shore of Canandaigua Lake.
