These Celebrities Topped Google's 2017 Most-Searched List
As 2017 comes to a close, Google shed light on this year’s most popular celebrity figures with their annual top search compilation.
In recent months, the world has seen its fair share of scandal in the entertainment industry, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that former Today show titan Matt Lauer claimed the top spot on the tech giant’s most-searched people list. Following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct and harassment in the workplace, the NBC host was fired from his long-standing position in late November.
Not so surprisingly, the disgraced news anchor shared the number one spot with Meghan Markle, who made headlines for an entirely different reason. After fueling engagement rumors for months, courtesy of her whirlwind romance with Prince Harry, the Suits actress and her royal beau confirmed their plans to tie the knot in a spring wedding last month.
Since then, the public has avidly followed the future royal's every style move and public appearance as she prepares to take on her new role.

Other notable names from this year’s biggest scandals, such as Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, and Kathy Griffin, landed themselves in the top 10 slots.
