All the Celebs Who Have Shown Support for the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce

While Taylor Swift's support for her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his football team, the Kansas City Chiefs, has been in the headlines a lot lately, there are actually plenty of big-name celebrities who are just as big of fans of the team, if not more so, and will definitely be cheering them on in Super Bowl LVIII.

Paul Rudd

The Ant-Man actor might star in films and have many adoring fans of his own, but Paul Rudd can be a very giddy fan himself when it comes to the Chiefs. Rudd and his son Jack have been in attendance at the last two times the Chiefs won the Super Bowl in 2020 and 2023, and they are likely to be watching this one together.

After the 2023 win, the two were interviewed, with Rudd referred to as "Actor and Chiefs Superfan," and when Jack got on the mic, he couldn't stop complimenting quarterback Patrick Mahomes, enthusiastically saying, "I'm so lucky I'm alive the watch this, and I just cannot believe he's a real person."

A lot of celebs hold a personal connection to the team due to a history in either Kansas City, Mo., or Kansas City, Kan., which are essentially two cities that share a border, and some people consider them one and the same. This is the case for Rudd, who moved to Kansas with his family when he was 10 years old and later studied at the University of Kansas.

Eric Stonestreet

Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet was also interviewed after the 2023 game as a major fan of the Chiefs, and he was born and raised in Kansas City, Kan. He got quite emotional while talking about the team last year, telling the reporter, "I'm so proud of these guys...It means so much for Kansas City, you know how much I love that city."

"I've been a live and die hard fan for a long time and we cannot let this moment pass without our appreciation for Andy Reid," he went on, with the reporter later commenting that Stonestreet devotedly attended every single home game for the team in the season, along with many away games.

Stonestreet was even declared an official member of Coach Reid's family due to their resemblance, leading to a couple of hilarious skits in which the actor played the character "Randy Reid," the coach's long-lost younger brother.

Jason Sudeikis

Jason Sudeikis also grew up in Kansas City and actually went to the same high school as Rudd, giving him a very personal connection and loyalty to the Chiefs.

The actor is very vocal about his support, and he even mentioned the city after winning an Emmy for Ted Lasso, saying, "Kansas City just is part of my soul. It’s where I’m from. It’s where I was raised, it’s where my folks live and where a lot of good and bad things have happened to me and many other people."

Melissa Etheridge

Melissa Etheridge, originally from Kansas, is a huge Chiefs fan, often rooting them on at games, and she performed at the team's 2019 AFC Championship. In fact, Etheridge even created her own music inspired by the football team, with a song called "Chocolate Cake."

The song—which references an interview in which Coach Reid compared winning football games to eating chocolate cake—features lyrics like, "Not much is gonna stop you. I mean, that’s how you feel about the Super Bowl. That is the chocolate cake with the ultimate frosting, and you’re gonna try to go get it if you can.”

Henry Winkler

Another super famous Chiefs fan is "The Fonz," Henry Winkler, known for playing Fonzie in the hit sitcom Happy Days. The actor proudly wears his love for the team on his sleeve. Winkler finally got to meet Mahomes on the field in fall 2022, and he was starstruck.

Ever since Swift started dating Kelce and got some of her fans to tune in for football, Winkler has also been bonding more with his granddaughter over the game. In October 2023, he shared a photo of the little girl wearing a shirt that read, "World's Biggest Fan of Taylor Swift's Boyfriend's Team."

Brad Pitt

Movie star Brad Pitt, who grew up in Missouri, passionately loves the Chiefs. One of the most memorable moments of Pitt showing off his appreciation for the football team was at the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards, when a fellow Chiefs fan on the red carpet gave him a hat to wear in celebration of the team going to the Super Bowl. Pitt proudly put the hat on and gave the fan a thumbs up.

Morgan Freeman

It seems the Chiefs are a favorite for many top actors, as Morgan Freeman is also a devoted fan. In October, as everything with Swift and Kelce started heating up, Freeman was asked about the couple and whether or not it changed how he watched football.

While being interviewed on CBS Mornings, Freeman confirmed his love for the team before saying of the celebrity romance, "I don’t think about them…at all." But he had a lot of great things to say about Mahomes, commenting, "It’s great to watch Pat run. You know, escape. He’s got a rifle for an arm; that’s all good. That’s what I’m interested in.”

Henry Cavill

For British actor Henry Cavill, his love for the Chiefs came about in an interesting way. After he moved to the U.S., he decided he needed to pick a team to get behind, and with no personal connection to any state or city, he took inspiration from a role he played.

Telling Rich Eisen in 2018, Cavill explained that he decided on the Chiefs thanks to his part in Man of Steel, which came out in 2013: "I realized I had to pick a team. I said to myself, 'Superman is from Kansas.' It just made sense to me."

It's safe to say there are quite a few big names who love the Chiefs, and they are sure to be cheering them on as they play against the San Francisco 49ers on Feb. 11.
