Celine Dion Cancels World Tour Amid Health Battle

Celine Dion had some sad news to share in her latest social media post, where she let her fans know that her upcoming world tour has officially been canceled.

Just months after going public with her ongoing health issues as she battles a rare neurological disorder known as Stiff Person Syndrome, the "My Heart Will Go On" songstress revealed that her previously postponed shows on the Courage World Tour have now been canceled.

"It is with tremendous disappointment that we have to announce today the cancellation of the Courage World Tour," she wrote in an Instagram post on Friday, May 26. "I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again."

"I’m working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you’re 100%," Dion, 55, continued. "It’s not fair to you to keep postponing the shows, and even though it breaks my heart, it’s best that we cancel everything now until I’m really ready to be back on stage again."

She did try to leave her fans with a glimmer of hope, adding, "I want you all to know, I’m not giving up… and I can’t wait to see you again!” – Celine xx…"

Dion first announced her diagnosis in December 2022, revealing in an emotional Instagram video that her condition is incurable, and causes symptoms that include debilitating muscle spasms, among other things, eventually turning sufferers into "human statues."

"Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life," she said at the time. "Sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I'm used to."

But still, the "I'm Alive" artist isn't giving up the hope of being able to tour again, as "All I know is singing. It's what I've done all my life. And it's what I love to do the most," she insisted.
