Since Celine Dion's debut album La Voix de bon Dieu came out in 1981, Dion has become one of the most successful female artists of all time with five Grammy wins under her belt and nearly 250 million albums sold.

But most of her net worth of $400 million, according to Forbes, isn't from record sales. Thanks to her decade-plus residency in Las Vegas, Dion is currently richer than both Barbra Streisand and Beyoncé.

Since her "A New Day …" show opened in Las Vegas in 2003, she has earned approximately $350 million performing roughly 70 shows per year, Forbes reports. She makes more than any other entertainer in Las Vegas at $500,000 per show, according to The Telegraph.

Her 2017 paycheck - $42 million - was on par with both country singer Luke Bryan and rap mogul Jay Z, who made the same amount last year.

After "A New Day…" wrapped up in 2007, Celine went on tour for a year playing sold out stadiums and arenas across the world. She returned to Vegas in 2011 for her second residency, "Celine," at the Colosseum at Caesars. But in August 2014, she postponed her Las Vegas shows and cancelled a tour in Asia after her husband, Rene Angelil's health began to fail.

After taking a year's hiatus from Las Vegas, Dion returned to the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on August 27, 2015 and has performed there since, only missing a handful of shows after both her husband and brother both died from cancer in January 2016.

In addition to her show at Caesar's Palace, which is slated to run until 2019, she also toured Europe in 2017.

But Dion doesn't just make money - she also gives it back through various philanthropic endeavors. She has been a celebrity patron of Cystic Fibrosis Canada early in her career after her niece, Karine, passed away from the disease at the age of 16. Dion's own charity, the Fondation Celine Dion, has also raised almost $11 million for various charities since she and her husband founded it in 1998.
