Here Are Some Of The Challenges I Face Living Alone — Now I Want To Know Yours

I've been living alone for the past four years, and while I love not having roommates, there are a few things I could do without.

For one thing, if something goes wrong, I always have to be the one to get in touch with the super or landlord if I can't take care of it myself.

It might not seem like a big deal, but if you experience even an iota of social anxiety, this can be a nightmare.

I also worry about falling a lot more than I used to. Every time I have to change a lightbulb, replace the batteries in my smoke detector, or anything else that might require a stepladder, I wait until I can video call a friend in case I take a tumble and knock myself unconscious.

No roommates also means no built-in pet sitters for my cats, which can make impromptu traveling a lot more difficult, and I can't watch certain horror movies or shows knowing I'll be all alone in my apartment after, with only my overactive imagination (and cats).
