Chardon Senior Center unveils May programs
Apr. 24—The Chardon Senior Center has unveiled a slate of programs it will be hosting this May.
The next segment in the "Lunch and Speaker Series with Kathie Doyle" will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1':30 p.m. May 3.This month's topic is "The Great Depression" and it will start with the presentation and follow with lunch, according to a news release.
This is a free event, but registration is required by calling 440-279-2126.
Next, "The History of the Lake Branch of the B&O Railroad" will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. May 7. The B&O Railroad once ran through the region, including Chardon and Middlefield. Attendees can learn about the industries along the railroad and the interesting and funny things that happened long the way, the release stated.
The event includes lunch. Registration is required by calling 440-279-2126.
"Diabetes Support Group — Ask A Pharmacist" will then take place at 2 p.m.. May 21. Attendees are asked to bring their medication list as the UH Geauga Pharmacy team will be talking about diabetes medications, how it works, and how keeping blood sugar stable is so important, the release stated.

Finally, "Parkinson's Support Group — Speech Therapy" will be held at 12:30 p.m. May 2. Catherine Mayer, a speech therapist from UH Geauga, will be talking about swallowing, voice issues, and ways people can improve their speech.
