YSL Beauty Taps Charles Melton for New Fragrance Campaign
It was only a matter of time before Hollywood It boy Charles Melton got a major luxury brand deal.
YSL Beauty is the first to lock down Melton in the new year, as he's been named the newest U.S. "voice" (as the brand puts it) of Myslf. The fragrance is one that "expresses modern masculinity for the man who stands — unapologetically — as himself," per the press release.
Melton poses in an accompanying photoshoot — lensed by Zoey Grossman — holding a bottle of Myslf while smizing to the camera, wearing black nail polish. A social campaign for the fragrance launches Tuesday.
"Lending my voice for Myslf is a natural extension of who I am as an individual and as a creative," Melton said in a statement. "YSL Beauty has created a fragrance that is bold, but subtle — embracing the competing confidence and vulnerability that I find innate as an actor... Together, I hope that we can inspire you to embrace your own edge and all parts of yourself."
General Manager of YSL Beauty Emilie Poisson said of Melton: "He is a true creative who expresses himself unapologetically, a value core to our beautiful brand. With this next chapter, we hope to continue inspiring others to never stop the pursuit of self-exploration. Together with our voices, we will continue our journey to redefine masculinity, embracing change and vulnerability with pride."
The announcement follows Melton's critically acclaimed turn in "May December," alongside Julianne Moore and Natalie Portman.
He now joins a roster of other culturally relevant YSL "voices," including Noah Beck, Finn Wolfhard, Lil Yachty and Hunter Doohan, in addition to global ambassador Austin Butler.
