The Charming Costco Find That's Two Gifts in One
As the holiday season quickly approaches, now is the time when everyone should start thinking about gift ideas ahead of the inevitable December rush. No matter how much confidence you might have in your ability to pick up last-minute gifts, there’s always something perfect for that special someone that sells out way ahead of the holidays. And if anybody knows just how quickly a hot item can sell out, it’s Costco membership holders.
If you plan on making a run to everybody’s favorite membership warehouse club this week, a few of our favorite Costco-focused social media accounts have highlighted the Traditional English Tea Tins (item number 1744722), which make great gifts for your tea-loving friends (or maybe a treat just for you). Laura from Costco Hot Finds included it in her Top Costco Finds post and the folks at Costco Does it Again noticed the cute tins, too. The tins come in a pack of two, which means you can split them up for two gifts for the price of one or keep them together as a set.

Featuring a full-bodied, aromatic black tea imported from Sri Lanka, each tin comes packed with 80 foil-wrapped tea bags and retails for $14.90. The teal tin is packed with breakfast tea; the teal tin is full of an afternoon blend. And although any tea lover would hop at the chance to sip on a hot cup of tea on a cold day, it's the vintage aesthetic and gold foil font on the tins that really puts this product in a category of its own. The tins are the kind of thing you wouldn't mind leaving out on the counter and can serve as handy storage once the tea is used up.
In fact, that's exactly what some of the commenters have done. "I would buy these just for the cute tin," said a commenter on Costco Does it Again's post. "I’m not a tea drinker, but I have this tin on my counter," replied another.
An excited Costco fan from across the pond weighed in on the Costco Hot Finds post. “I’m hoping to try those English teas, especially being English. I’ll need them when I move to the states,” they said. One expat in the group weighed in with a little warning. "I will say English Tea Bags are a lot better than the ones here," they said.
While it should be obvious that you can get a better product by going straight to the source, not everyone can hop on a flight to London and enjoy a spot of tea. Half of what makes a gift so special is the thought attached to the gesture. So whether you have a friend or family member who misses home back in the UK, or just really enjoys a tasty tea in a pretty tin, this Traditional English Tea Tin set could be a very thoughtful gift.
Before you get your tins to the checkout, you might also want to consider picking up a handy mixing bowl set for yourself and perhaps a gingerbread chateau to really get you in the holiday spirit.
