Check out These 5 Rad Dogs That Love to Ride
Yesterday we launched a photo contest to crown the “Raddest Dog in Cycling”—and it’s already shaping up to be one of the most important elections of the year.
From mountain-biking “schnoodles,” to pugs in bicycle sidecars, and terriers of every color and breed rolling the streets in messenger bags, more than 80 pups are ready to win your heart and your vote. And while a few favorites have already risen to the top, it would be a tragedy if some of these incredible dogs got lost in the onslaught of canine submissions. With that in mind, our staff picked some of our newest furry favorites to highlight. Visit the Raddest Dogs contest and vote early and often (up to once per day, per device): The winning dog will be featured in Bicycling. And if you have your own four-legged biking buddy, be sure to enter your pup into the mix.
Bob Ward nominates Poki and Tula
"Poki is my black-and-white border collie, and Tula is my Aussie mix. They are both rescues. I call them "Team No Excuses" because unlike some of my human biking buddies, they never turn down or bail on an opportunity to ride. If you wanted to define pure joy, it would be when they realize they are in for a mountain bike ride."
Coffeeteatrip nominates Kierda
“Me and my dog Kierda on a trip to Wschowa in Poland.”
Lindsey Wallace nominates Rosie:
“Rosie loves tagging along in her trailer. I bring her camping, to picnics, and on a lot of social group rides. People love seeing her out and about, and she loves the attention.”
Sarah Lucas nominates Habernash
“Despite being diagnosed with a spinal disorder early in his puppy days, Habernasch has made way into hearts in the cycling community with his professional debut at Tour of Utah with Team Smart Stop.”
Rheannon Arvidson nominates Branson
“Even after losing a toe to cancer, Branson was committed to mountain biking. She has 10 years of shop experience, loves to chill out with a beer mid-ride, and knows when it’s best to hitch a ride.”
