Chelsea Clinton slams President Trump's 'embrace of white nationalism & anti-Semitic & Islamophobic hate'
Chelsea Clinton is known for taking a kill-them-with-kindness approach with Twitter trolls. This time, however, the former first daughter isn’t holding back about her objections to President Trump’s behavior.
While Clinton was among the first to chastise Rep. Ilhan Omar for using anti-Semitic tropes when discussing the pro-Israel lobby AIPAC on Twitter, she’s now defending the Minnesota lawmaker. Though Omar has since apologized, Trump has called for the freshman congresswoman to either resign from Congress or the House Foreign Affairs Committee on which she serves.
Clinton took to Twitter on Tuesday to call out the president for criticizing Omar, citing what she says is his “embrace of white nationalism” and “exploitation & amplification of anti-Semitic, Islamophobic, racist, xenophobic, anti-LGBTQ hate.”
Mr. President, Congresswoman @IlhanMN apologized for using an anti-Semitic trope & demonstrated leadership. When have you ever apologized for your embrace of white nationalism & your exploitation & amplification of anti-Semitic, Islamophobic, racist, xenophobic, anti-LGBTQ hate? https://t.co/MAsdHkZbdg

And when Vice President Mike Pence tweeted his own condemnation of Omar — calling her words a “disgrace” and her apology “inadequate” — Clinton responded by once again calling out Trump.
Mr. Vice President- Congresswoman @IlhanMN apologized. She has moved on to highlighting challenges facing McDonald’s workers.
President Trump, a far more powerful person in Washington, has never apologized for his embrace of white nationalism & anti-Semitic & Islamophobic hate. https://t.co/JolA1Yn7Iv— Chelsea Clinton (@ChelseaClinton) February 13, 2019
When a critic accused her of having “no proof” that the president encouraged racist rhetoric and behavior, Clinton cited several of his policies.
A few-The Muslim ban. The Trans troop ban. “Very fine people” both sides post Charlottesville. Separating children from their families at the border. Denying Puerto Rico funds to recover and rebuild. Supporting the banning of prospective loving #LGBTQ foster and adoptive parents.

Many lauded Clinton’s Trump criticism, but she also took heat for her previous remarks accusing Omar of using anti-Semitic language. Her new defense of Omar, they say, comes too late.
You made this worse Chelsea, you’re in no position to lecture anyone about Ilhan.

If the Congresswoman is forced to resign, you own it.
